Excessive mobile phone use has been linked to anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, poor sleep and low self-esteem. Not such a great effect? Try limiting your use of your mobile phone. If you can't (ideally) switch it off, try turning it off after certain times in the evening or weekend; cancel instant notifications and delete websites or apps that have a negative affect on you. Also, there are lots of psychologically manipulative predators around that frequent the internet and may appear genuine to the inexperienced and impressionable (as we all are to some extent, but especially young people). So be very very wary of speaking, in secret, to strangers on the internet, and don't ever do that at all, ever, if you are aged 21 or under.
